It’s difficult to recognize actor Ian McKellen without his iconic roles as Gandalf and Magneto. He was already well-known in Hollywood and theater before these roles.

Ian McKellen has a reputation as a versatile and talented actor who can handle any role given to him. It’s hard for fans today to imagine him without his deep wrinkles, wise gaze, and distinctive smile. But there was a time when he was young.

Looking at the photo of a young Ian McKellen with curly hair and prominent ears, it’s surprising to know he was already thirty years old.

In a 1969 film called “A Touch of Love,” he looked like a schoolboy reminiscent of the Beatles, rather than a man approaching forty.

Age doesn’t hinder McKellen’s creative career, as he continues to work on multiple projects. There are rumors of his involvement in the film “Noel” and his participation in the voice acting for the crime comedy “Glee.”

In early 2020, McKellen delighted fans by releasing diary entries he wrote during his time working on the Lord of the Rings project. He announced this on his Twitter page.

In addition to his successful acting career, Sir Ian McKellen also holds a PhD from Cambridge University.
