Getting rid of ex-husband: Melanie Griffith replaced a tattoo honouring Antonio Banderos with her children’s names
Melanie Griffith made a significant change to her body, opting to remove a reference to her ex-husband through a new tattoo. The 65-year-old actress, known for her role in “Working Girl,” proudly displayed her fresh ink during an appearance in Los Angeles. Sporting a black T-shirt, a summery white skirt, and stylish cat-eye sunglasses, Griffith accessorized with gloves, a small bag, and a pair of earrings. Her hair flowed freely, and she wore light, natural makeup.Melanie didn’t shy away from showcasing her new tattoo, which replaced a previously inked heart-shaped image on her skin. Now, the names of her children—Alexander, Stella, Dakota, and Jesse—are intricately arranged as a crossword puzzle on her arm. The only remaining trace of the old tattoo was a faint outline of a heart. Following her breakup with Antonio in June 2014, the “Lolita” actress underwent laser tattoo removal. A few days later, she artfully covered up Antonio’s name with makeup for a film festival in Italy. Over the years, the tattoo gradually faded away. The love story between the stars began while filming the 1995 comedy “Two Much,” and a year later, they welcomed their daughter Stella before tying the knot. After 18 years of marriage, the actors decided to part ways, and their divorce was finalized in December 2015. In a joint statement, Melanie and Antonio expressed their intention to end their marriage amicably, maintaining respect and fondness for each other, their family, and their friends.
Prior to her marriage to Antonio, Melanie had previously been married to Don Johnson, with whom she shares a daughter, Dakota Johnson. Jesse Johnson, Don’s son, also became a stepchild to Melanie. Interestingly, Jesse’s name is also present on the actress’s hand. Melanie and Don had married and divorced twice. Additionally, from her relationship with “Scarface” star Steven Bauer, Griffith has a 37-year-old son named Alexander Bauer.Despite the end of their marriage, Antonio speaks warmly of his ex-wife, emphasizing their enduring bond. He considers Melanie to be part of his family and one of his closest friends, alongside their shared children—Dakota, Stella, and Alexander.
